Think your PC is fast?

Interesting StuffWelcome to ES (or Earth Simulator) based in Japan is the fastest parallel system in the world. Running at astonishing speeds of roughly 35.9 Tera flops a second(35.860 trillion arithmetic operations per second. To put this in perspective, my home computer, a Pentium 4 1.7ghz system, puts out roughly 3.2 giga flops a second. In other words, it would take about 12,000 of my systems to equal what ES is. Although I don't think I'd ever try and use my system to predict weather, volcanic, and cataclysmic trends over the entire earth.
