In The Registers latest posting regarding windows XP a semi detailed explanation of what new Some new core technologies that are to be included in "XP SE"(Microsoft next major update to the windows operating system) have been discussed on the register. First, support for a new file system that’s supposedly said to be the new default in Microsoft’s “Yukon”. Microsoft plans to release this new file system completely for the next real operating system code named “Yukon” (ETA 2006). Also, support for Palladium, a technology that Microsoft has been working on for over 5 years is also said to be releasing a glimpse of this technology for XP SE. The complete finished product is said to be released along with the complete file system that’s most likely going to be installed by default in “Yukon”.

Makes you wonder, in the last release of MS Windows 95 support for USB was included. The technology was included, however it was so buggy that most vendors and manufactures said right in their instructions that if you’re using Windows 95 you need to upgrade operating systems in order to use their USB based product. I’m hoping Microsoft doesn’t do the same thing with XP SE If they’re going to release code that’s buggy why not wait until it’s finished and bug free before distributing it to millions of users?
