Last month a resident of Tokyo, Japan's computer running distributed. net’s key cracking client came up with the correct key. This news would have been released earlier if Distributed.net hadn't overlooked the winning key. The winner apparently won 2,000.00 US dollars, 2,000.00 went to the free software foundation, and 6,000.00 went to distributed.net for their operating costs. It's a shame this Japanese resident didn't get the 5,000 dollars he was promised.
