Computer games = new addiction for geeks

Funny StuffTheirs a book series called “My teacher is an alien”, some where in this series it’s talked about how alien users of a VR died because they became addicted to the system. The system which in this sci-fi book series is equivalent to actual reality doesn’t compare at all to our current science. The reason I brought up the books is that people are starting to die. Their deaths are related to computer activities such as online gaming which offer the user a virtual reality in which they blow people away. In a recent article from the register the death of a Korean man who had been playing a computer game marathon is detailed, also in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, a 30 year old man who was playing Nintendo 64 suffered an epileptic seizure, hit his head on a table and died. Though is been know for at least two decades that bright flashing light like that emanating from a computer game can trigger these symptoms. The point is, is this man knew he had seizures and yet he continued playing. It seems to me that online gaming, computer games, and gaming consoles are fast becoming so addictive that some users will risk death to continue playing.
