From MSNBC's Alan Boyle

"Oct. 20 — For two years, tens of thousands of Internet users have been using spare time on their computers to fiddle with virtual protein molecules, in hopes of helping scientists understand how proteins work and find new cures for diseases such as Alzheimer’s. New research indicates that they do — raising hopes that software could be used to unravel mysteries that real experiments could never crack."-END

It's about time computer users stop using spare time for searching for aliens and start using their PC's for something useful. United Devices has been using similar technology for cancer research, while stanford researchers contiune to research on alzheimer’s. Ms NBC
