Why is the government interested in website stats of children?

RantsThat’s the question many are asking after it was found that the Department of Defense was found to be purchasing statistical data from the largest web filtering firms for students. The company N2H2 also markets a product called Class Clicks which the Defence department is said to have purchased. Among privacy experts it’s believed that this statistical data is most likely going to be used in military ad compains similar to “Be all that you can be”.

It sounds to me that the military is taking a cue from the cigerate companies when they used to market to children. If these claims are correct this means the government and military is planning a broad new ad compain aimed at American youth. This is a new tactic which shouldn’t be taken lightly, if the government starts brainwashing children with it’s new military ad compain, what’s to stop them from marketing other things? Have you wagged the dog lately?
