According to an
article written by Scott Bekker of ENTnews titled “Lawyers Confirm Late 2004 Ship Date for Longhorn”, white paper filed by Microsoft Lawyers for a private antitrust suit from Sun Microsystems confirms the estimated ship date of the upcoming Microsoft operating system code named “Longhorn” set for 2004. Bekker also speculated that the new operating system could potentially use a brand new file system that was being written for the next generation SQL server, along with various other features like Palladium and a new API’s for cross communications between word processors, spread sheets, email programs.
