Apple more secure then Microsoft ?

MicrosoftA routers report for CNN online titled “Experts: Microsoft security gets an 'F'”, has some interesting perspective on the Microsoft bugs, while I believe MS is defiantly doing something wrong regarding its duty to keep its software safe and secure, I would argue that, PC users probably wouldn’t switch to an Apple machine for that reason alone. The author ended his rather generic article on some what sour note, stating “A Consumer Reports survey last year found that virus infection rates on Macs are half what they are on Windows ….”Is that because Macs are safer? I think the answer is yeah”. Last time I checked there was a total of 61 known viruses since available for Apple computer systems. You think this is because the apple is more secure? Consider this, Apple computer has a 5% market share, with an operating system based on a totally different architecture compared with that of a windows machine. There is nothing preventing a cracker from writing a virus for the apple platform, the simple fact is, Apple isn’t the target because no one cares about Apple.
