Verisign - Abusing Powers, Angering Techies.

Interesting StuffAs you may or may not know, Verisign inc., the self pronounced "leader in critical infrastructure and Security services for Internet and Telecommunications networks" has began using its powers as a domain registrar to setup wildcard DNS entries to all .com and .net domains effectively redirecting any person who mistypes a URL to a search site owned and operated by Verisign inc.

According to a story written by John Leyden for The Register, The Internet Software Consortium has published a patch for its widely used BIND DNS server. This new patch prevents users who mistype URLs from being redirected to Verisign search engine.
